AR overlays are to be displayed using 3D-printed components (e.g., furnishings, walls, rooms) that can be clearly recognized by a smartphone in terms of shape and position.
The changes made during manual planning are to be fed back into digital planning software using AR.

MaintainChain – Blockchain for tamper-proof maintenance documentation in production Development of an AR-based application for remote maintenance of machine tools
On-site maintenance personnel receive visual assistance and instructions via AR overlays and are supported in real time by the manufacturer.
Tamper-proof maintenance documentation using blockchain technology ensures traceability and legal compliance.
An AI-based module enables tracking and error detection during the maintenance process.

„Reach-Next“ - Development and evaluation of an XR development environment for programming collaborative robot systems
Building on the results of the Remote Enhanced Asymmetric Collaboration for Human-Robot Interaction (REACH) project, an XR-based development environment is being designed that enables intuitive and efficient programming of robotics systems.
The developed environment will be tested for effectiveness and user-friendliness as part of an evaluation involving real users and experts.

The Virtual Worlds project is an initiative funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research to build a strong ecosystem for virtual worlds
The aim of the project is to establish a network of companies, research institutions and public stakeholders to promote the development and implementation of innovative technologies for virtual worlds in line with the EU strategy for Web 4.0 and virtual worlds.
To this end, Mittweida University of Applied Sciences will expand the XR-INTERACTION network to include a strong European partner network. This forms the basis for pooling the best technological and scientific expertise across Europe and working together on highly innovative projects.
